About You

I’ve set this page up in the hope of getting to know the followers of this blog a bit better. Who are you? Where are you from? What’s your story? Why do you blog (if you do)?

I would love you to visit and comment. Thanks! 🙂

  2. The name is Jo, and I currently live in the far southwest corner of Oklahoma, USA. I live far, far, far away from family. My sisters complain that I couldn’t have moved farther away from anywhere if I tried. I’m good with that – for now – things can always change. I’m a voracious reader (maybe part of the reason why I live remotely, more quiet time), and I quilt. Oh my, do I ever quilt. I read about quilting, talk about quilting, blog about quilting.

I probably began my blog because I am so involved in the subject – I can blog about it without fear of causing family and friends eyes to glaze over (do you know the look I’m talking about?), just prior to seeing them stampede out of the room.

So blogging for me is a good outlet – people that share the same interests are stopping in to read and comment on whatever idea is skidding across my brain.

    • Thanks for being first to comment Jo, pleased to meet you! 🙂
As you will guess, I’ve caught the quilting addiction too. My husband has been very supportive so far, but I recognize that look I get when I need to change the subject. His sister is also a quilter so we have a lot more to talk about now when we visit her (I raid her piles of quilting magazines too).
I enjoy reading and writing as well, but there never seems to be enough time to do it all!

  3. I’m Rebekah, I live in Canada but I’m Swedish, so I’m very far from my family. Moved here in 2004. We live on the eastern seaboard, an hour’s drive from the American border. I’ve often asked myself why I blog, but I think I got hooked when I discovered the social part of it. I’ve been at it since 2006, but I’ve been online since 1996. I don’t quilt at all, but I like taking pictures … mainly birds an any wildlife I happen to come across.

    • Hi Rebekah, thanks for introducing yourself here. I discovered your blog when you posted some lovely flower photos a while ago. I’m enjoying the social aspect of blogging too, now finding it hard to keep up with everyone! For me blogging is a great outlet for sharing my photography & my thoughts – also to keep me motivated with the quilt project, but I’ve been a bit slow with that lately. I’ve seen a little of the West Coast of Canada but never visited the part where you live – maybe one day… 🙂

  4. You know me well. I’m not a quilter but as you know I love photography and seeing as you are one of my best and dearest friends I love anything you are doing. Because I don’t live in the same town as you any more I love to read your blogs to keep up with what is happening in your life.
For the others that follow your blog I live at a place called Mahia Peninsula at the Northern end of Hawke’s Bay, North Island, New Zealand. Its a holiday destination and I manage my family’s Motels and Holiday Park.
I never go anywhere with out my cameras to capture the world through my lenses.

    • Thanks Joce! Mahia is a beautiful place, I highly recommend spending some time there. The quilting is taking a bit of a back seat at the moment – I need to get at that sewing machine again!
